Title:
DEVICE FOR DETECTING AND COUNTING PITCH MATCHING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01199290
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the indistictness of a signal to be caused when the brightness of a sheet edge alternates between positive and negative by rectifying the differentiated and summed output of a sensor in the counting of plural piled sheets.

CONSTITUTION: A sensor array 170 consisting of sensors 170a, 170b whose widths are W receives light from the sheets 172 piled in a plural number through an objective lens 174, and outputs output signals B, C. (W is made more narrow than the pitch P of the sheet 172 as much as possible). The signals B, C are inputted to a differentiating and summing preamplifier 176 and are differentiated and summed, and are outputted as the signal D. Then, this signal D has the indistinctness as the signal when the brightness of the sheet edge alternates between the positive and the negative. Accordingly, this is eliminated by rectifying the signal D by a full-wave zero offset rectifier 56, and the signal E is obtained. Then, this signal E is inputted to a processor 80 through filters 94, 98.
