Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect an open fault in an A/D converter.SOLUTION: A device for detecting an open fault in an A/D converter includes: a switching section for selectively connecting to the A/D converter N terminals including a first terminal fed with a voltage, a second terminal fed with a voltage of a greater absolute value and a third terminal fed with a voltage to be A/D-converted, in a switching mode including switching from the first terminal to the third terminal and switching from the second terminal to the third terminal; a storage section for storing information on results of A/D conversion; and an open fault detection section for detecting an open fault of the third terminal on the basis of the stored information if the absolute value of a difference between a result value of A/D conversion of a voltage at the third terminal at the switching from the first terminal to the third terminal and a result value of A/D conversion of a voltage at the third terminal at the switching from the second terminal to the third terminal is greater than a set threshold.
