PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting the position of a rotator shaft of a rotary machine in an axial direction.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a device (30) for detecting the position of a rotator shaft (16) of a rotary machine in an axial direction, in which a sensor stator ring (31) of the device faces one end (16b) of the rotator shaft (16) and is located to form an axial-directional air gap of (e0+x), the end (16b) of the rotator shaft (16) functions as a target surface, and the position of the target surface in the axial direction is a measurement target of the sensor stator ring (31).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
