Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize switching operation by driving an element while reducing the influence due to heat, etc., without reducing the efficiency in the operation of an array type optical switch element having a thyristor characteristic.
CONSTITUTION: This array type optical element driving device 5 is constituted of driving circuits 3a-3c generating the repeat of a set voltage and a reset voltage to respective rows of an array for the array type optical switch element 1 arranging the optical switch element 2 having the thyristor characteristic becoming low impedance by being applied with the set voltage and becoming high impedance by being applied with the reset voltage in matrix on a plane, and a timing control circuit 4 controlling the driving circuits 3a-3c for respective rows in the array so as to shift the driving period of the set voltage while allowing the superposition of the driving period of the set voltage.
