Abstract:

To simplify a device configuration and also to improve load current detection accuracy in an inductive load driving device for performing feedback control of a load current caused to flow to an inductive load.

A FET 10 provided between a linear solenoid (load) and a power supply line has both two functions which are the original conduction control for controlling conduction/non-conduction to the load and overcurrent prevention for interrupting overcurrent to the load by the operation of an overcurrent limiter circuit 42 when the overcurrent is caused to flow on a conduction path from the power supply line supplied with a battery voltage + B to a ground line through a linear solenoid LO(load). Both load currents flowing when the FET 10 is turned on and off are detected by a current detection resistor R20 between the load and the ground line. The load currents (detected voltage VO) thus detected are also inputted to a CPU 11 through an AD converter 12 to be compared with a target current, and in the case of the abnormality of the load currents, the FET 10 is turned off to prevent the load currents completely.
