PURPOSE: To reduce the volume of an elevator shaft module by rotatably combining the side walls of the elevator shaft module each other, and making the modules foldable.

CONSTITUTION: In an elevator shaft module 1, releasable screw connection parts 10, 7 and screws 10, 3 are released at all the joint connection positions 12 and 13, and after that, the module 1 is folded to reduce the horizontal direction cross section of the module 1. The folded module 1 is loaded by arranging in the longitudinal direction on the load-carrying platform of a truck, and carried to a construction site. Then, the module 1 is extended in the construction site, and the joint of individual elements 6, 1 and 6, 2 each other joint connection positions 12 and 13 of a frame are screwed for fixing. As a result, the rigidity of an unfoldable module is obtained.
