Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for estimating the state of charge of a battery with which it is possible to heighten the accuracy of estimating the charge rate of a battery cell even when the working temperature range of the battery cell is wide.SOLUTION: A battery ECU is provided with an observer for successively estimating, on the basis of the detected value of charge/discharge current of a battery cell, an open-end voltage in a state equation derived from the equivalent circuit model of a battery cell. The battery ECU selects, from among temperature ranges in which a plurality of divided working temperature ranges of the battery cell are set, a temperature range in which the detected temperature value of the battery cell is included, and sets the upper- and lower-limit values R1L, R1U, R2L, R2U, C1L, C1U, C2L, C2U of circuit parameters of the equivalent circuit model corresponding to boundaries of the selected temperature range. The battery ECU calculates an observer gain L used in an observer on the basis of the set upper- and lower-limit values R1L, R1U, R2L, R2U, C1L, C1U, C2L, C2U of circuit parameters.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
