Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate a process of binarizing the data of a pick-up image and to evaluate a painted surface without variation.
CONSTITUTION: Light of a stripe pattern of light and shade is projected onto the painted surface 1a of a motorcar 1 from a device 3, and reflected light from the surface 1a is imaged by an imaging device 5. The image information generated by the device 5 is supplied to a detector 7, the density bandwidth and density gradient distribution are found, and the painted surface is evaluated on the basis of the bandwidth and distribution by a device 9 for evaluation.
