Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for reducing astigmatism.SOLUTION: Provided is a scanning system for treatment of target tissue of a patient, comprising: a light source 4 for generating a light beam; a scanner 50 for deflecting the light beam to form first and second treatment patterns of the light beam under control of a controller; and a delivery system for delivering the first treatment pattern to the target tissue to form therein a cataract incision part for providing access to an aqueous chamber of the patient. The delivery system is also used to deliver the second treatment pattern to the target tissue to form a relaxing incision part along limbus tissue of the patient's eye or in the vicinity thereof or along cornea tissue in front of the limbus tissue to reduce the astigmatism of the eye.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
