PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and manipulation of a device for fastening a container loaded on a railroad freight car.

CONSTITUTION: A projection 7 composed of a basal part 8 and a head 9 rotating relative to the basal part 8 is provided vertically movably, in a case body 2 installed under the floor of a freight car. The projection 7 is protruded upward from the floor of the car and the head 9 is fixed to the hole of a corner metal tool attached to the lower part of the container. In a device for fastening a container to the car in this way, a shaft 10 is provided to vertically move the projection 7 and rotate the head 9 and a lever 14 is protruded from the shaft 10. The projection 7 is vertically moved and the head 9 is rotated by manipulating only one lever 14.
