PURPOSE: To feed objects to a sack-making and packaging machine by furnishing a tumbling rotor stepping over a feed conveyor, by installing a primary feed conveyor facing said roller and perpendicular to the feed conveyor, and by allowing the longitudinal formed objects to be packaged to tumble one after another for feed into the machine.

CONSTITUTION: When rollers 24 of a primary feed conveyor 3 are put in continuous rotation, longitudinal formed objects to be packaged A placed on the rollers 24 are transported in the direction as shown by the arrow to stop when the leading one comes in contact with a stopper 30a. Meanwhile the rotation of the prime driving shaft allows an intermittent rotating mechanism 8 to rotate a tumbling rotor 2 in stepping every quarter turn, and a notch 19 is put in facing the front part of the conveyor at every quarter motion. When a switch is closed by the cam and a solenoid-operated valve 36 is changed over, a cylinder 33 begins a stretching motion to release the stopper 30a, and thus the leading object A is transferred onto the notch 19. The object A is there tumbled when the rotor 2 makes a quarter turn and then transferred onto the feed conveyor 1 of the packaging machine.
