To provide a device for forming a binding selvage in a loom imparting no effect on a posture of an operation lever even if a tension change in a connecting means is caused by a change of distance between a driving means and the operation lever.

A main body 6 of a device for forming a binding selvage is fixed in front of the side edge part of a heddle frame 1 and integrally moved upper and lower with the heddle frame 1. A driving lever 40 fixed to a power shaft 39 of a rotary solenoid 38 is connected to an operation lever 28 of the main body 6 of the device for forming the binding selvage by a wire 30 as a connecting means. The driving lever 40 and the operating lever 28 have engaging parts 28a and 40a and the each end part of the wire 30 is engaged to the corresponding engaging part 28a or 40a. An engaging part 28b is installed under the engaging part 28a of the operating lever 28. A spring 31 is installed so as to be stretched from an engaging part 44 of a spring bracket 43 fixed on the heddle frame 1 to the engaging part 28b.
