Then the device B is provided with a first holding member 11 on the side of the sewing machine and a second holding member 12 on the side of the curtain cloth carrying device, which hold the top part of the curtain cloth, and a spatula forming a pleat valley and a spatula for forming a pleat mountain, which are between the members 11 and 12. In addition, the device is provided with a moving means moving the member 12 in the direction of the length of the curtain cloth and a detecting means detecting the position of the top part of the curtain cloth provided in the neighborhood of the second member 12 to move the means 12 based on the output of this detecting means to adjust the position of the top part of the curtain cloth.
