To provide a coal-gasifying device capable of stably discharging a melted slag without lowering the calorie of the produced gas, without increasing the heat loss of a gasification oven and without adding a special installation.
This device in which the lower part of a coal-gasifying oven 1 communicates with a preliminarily heating oven 4 through a slag tap 2, and in which a water pot 5 for discharging a slag thereinto is installed in the lower part of the preliminarily heating oven 4. Therein, a heat-preserving chamber 3 having a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the slag tap 2 and smaller than the diameter of the preliminarily heating oven 4 is adjacently placed immediately under the slag 2 The diameter of the heat-pressing chamber 3 is preferably larger by 20mm or more than the diameter of the slag tap 2.
