To evaluate a gasket used in an electric device and the like under the atmospheric conditions, wherein the actual using state is simulated and the inside and outside are different, by providing a flange for supporting a sample gasket and the tank for forming the atmosphere of the inner space of the flange.
A tank 7 is provided at the upper part of an upper flange 6 and communicated to the inner space of the flange 6. A sample gasket 6 is attached between the flanges 6 and 6 and tightened by a tightening volt 10. Thereafter, a given gas or liquid is sealed in the inner space of the flange part from an injecting port 9 and sealed in a predetermined atmospheric state. The device formed in this way is inputted into a thermostat or the like, and a predetermined processing such as heating for the specified atmosphere, temperature and time is performed. After the predetermined process is finished, the sample gasket 5 is taken out, and the characteristics are measured. The atmosphere in the upper and lower tanks 7 and 8 can be set at the vacuum state or the compressed state in correspondence with the using state of the gasket 5 to be evaluated. Insulating gas can be sealed and insulating oil can be filled.
