Abstract:
PURPOSE: To generate high output electron beams on-off modulated by direct current up to a frequency exceeding kHz in an electron beam generating apparatus provided with a electron gun and a high voltage switch. CONSTITUTION: The electron gun is composed of a cathode K, at least 2 acceleration electrodes E and EO, a cathode heater and an applicable focussing system. In the case of space use the concerned or each acceleration voltage VE, capable of being the connection part and generated in the generating source, impressed across the acceleration electrodes and the cathode except appropriate acceleration electrodes, and by the switch M the same voltage as the acceleration voltage and the cathode voltage are impressed alternately across the said acceleration electrodes, then the on-off modulation of the electron beams emitter from the electron gun is obtained.
