To provide a device for generating signal for an internal combustion engine capable of accurately providing rotation information including information of rotation direction of the engine even under a very low speed condition of the internal combustion engine.
The device 1 for generating signal is composed of a rotor 2 including a first series of reluctors T1, T2 corresponding to cylinders of the engine and a second series of reluctors T1, T2 having a designated phase relation to the first series of reluctors T1, T2, a first signal generator 3 and a second signal generator 4 detecting the first series of reluctors and the second series of reluctors of the rotor 2 respectively and generating pulse. Position relation of the first series of reluctors and the second series of reluctors and position relation of the first signal generator and the second signal generator are established to generate difference in phase relation between an output pulse of the first signal generator 3 and an output pulse of the second signal generator 4 between regular rotation and reverse rotation of the engine.
