Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a filtering vessel generating only a small amount of oxides, having extremely high filtering efficiency and capable of easily exchanging a heater by arranging under-heater type immersion tube heaters at a lower space of the filtering tube inside the filtering chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A filtering unit arranged with many filtering tubes 13 sideward is incorporated from the upper part into the filtering chamber surrounded with an upper cover having an upper heater 27 on its lower surface, a peripheral side wall 3 and a bottom wall and press-fixed to a partition wall with a wedge at the molten metal discharging side. In this molten metal heating device, few under-heater type immersion tubes 14 are arranged side by side in the lower space of the filtering tubes 13 and the heating from the upper and the lower parts can be executed. As the molten metal in the filtering chamber is heated at the lower part with the immersion tube heaters 14, the molten metal is heated at both the upper and the lower parts without any unevenness and the filtering efficiency can be improved. Then, a paper-like ceramic fiber is wound to a prescribed thickness on the outer periphery of the side wall position 3 where the immersion tube heaters 14 pass through and the periphery thereof is fixed with a castable refractory mixed with a moistened ceramic fiber.
