PURPOSE: To obtain a device for heating a sheet-like recording material in which the inner surface of a heating rotary cylinder is locally heated and heat energy supply efficiency by the radiant heat of a bar-like heating element is improved by disposing the bar-like heating element at a position different from the center of the heating rotary cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: In the device for heating the sheet-like recording material consisting of the heating rotary cylinder 2 and the bar-like heating element 1 arranged inside the heating rotary cylinder, the bar-like heating element 1 is disposed at the position different from the position of the shaft center of the cylinder 2. Furthermore, the heating element 1 is disposed at a position nearer to the heating surface of the sheet-like recording material 3 than the position of the shaft center of the cylinder 2 in this device consisting of the cylinder 2 and the heating element 1.
