Title:
DEVICE FOR HOLDING CLEANLINESS OF MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002120058
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a device for holding the cleanliness of molten metal with which impurity gas mainly constituted of gaseous hydrogen is sufficiently removed, interposition such as slag or oxide is hardly generated, and the molten metal with reduced impurity is obtained and the molten metal can be filled up into a mold.

The substantial surface area of the fluidized molten metal is enlarged by integrating a cleaning treatment vessel 21 and a holding furnace 22 and arranging an intra-molten metal tap 4 which can freely shut off/communicate the inside of the cleaning treatment vessel 21 and the inside of the holding furnace 22 between the vessel 21 and the furnace 22, and the fluctuation of the molten metal surface can be restrained. Further, the drop-in when the cleaning-treated molten metal is transported into the holding furnace, is prevented and the practical time and area, in which the molten metal is brought into contact with the vessel wall surface, are reduced. As a result, relating to the device for holding the cleanliness of the molten metal, the cleanliness of the molten metal before filling into a mold, is improved by restraining the formation of the oxide and the slag and the remelting of the gaseous hydrogen, and reducing the consumption of the inert gas used for sealing and pressurizing, and further, the producing cost is reduced by realizing the improvement of a through-put.
