PURPOSE: To obtain a device for ladling a molten metal at a constant rate with high accuracy and high efficiency by introducing the gaseous substance having the pressure higher than atm. pressure through a gas introducing and discharging pipe into said device and evacuating and discharging the gas when the position of a molten metal surface attains a set position.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting end 16 started to move by a start signal detects and measures the position of a molten metal surface while moving and transmits the result of measurement to an arithmetic device 20. The device 20 calculates the position of the molten metal surface upon ending of ladling from the result of the measurement and the set ladling amt. and instructs the result thereof to an automatic adjusting device 19. The device 19 moves the end 16 to said position according to the instructad value. Said device emits a signal for starting introdution to a gas introducing valve at the point of the time when the movement ends. The ladling of the molten metal is progressed by introduction of the gas and when the molten metal arrives at the set position, the measuring device makes instructions to stop the introduction of the gas, to start discharging of the gas, to start a timer and to reset the detecting end by the signal from the end 16. The ladling of the molten metal is stopped and the end 16 is reset to the home position. The gas discharge valve is closed by the signal from the timer upon timing-out of said timer.
