To obtain a lifting device whose structure is simple and by which an operation is simplified by a constitution wherein, when a sheet of recording paper is replaced, a recording pen is separated automatically from the sheet of recording paper by a guide mechanism which is arranged in the halfway part of a movement track up to a position in which the recording pen is moved fully.

A recording pen 1 is composed of a pen arm 1A, a pen point 1B and the like. A guide mechanism 2 is provided with a guide plate 2A in which an inclination part 2B is formed, and it is installed in an intermediate part of a movement track up to a position in which the pen arm 1A at the recording pen 1 is moved fully. When a sheet of recording paper 3 is replaced, a switch is operated, and the recording pen 1 is moved to the position in which it is moved fully. During a process in which the pen arm 1A is slid on the inclination part 2B at the guide mechanism 1 disposed in the intermediate part, the pen arm 1A is lifted automatically so as to be separated from the sheet of recording paper 3. The guide plate 2A is arranged so as to be crossed with the pen arm 1A at a certain angle exclusing a right angle so that it is lifted smoothly with reference to the movement track of the pen arm 1A.
