Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately and easily position optical fibers and to improve the manufacture efficiency by holding the connection surfaces of the optical fibers through moving devices. CONSTITUTION:The optical fibers 1-5 are held on four mount tables 5-8 which are arranged in cross directions and the connection surfaces 1a-4a atop the fibers are arranged on an assembly base 9 positioned in the center part of the cross directions. Then, the moving devices 10-15 and 15 for moving the respective connection surfaces 1a-4a in respective directions are moved in an X-coordinate axis direction, a Y-coordinate direction, and a Z-coordinate direction. Consequently, the optical fiber type optical element is formed while the direction and position of its connection surface are accurately determined, so the high-performance optical fiber element is easily manufactured.
