Abstract:

To provide a device and method for controlling a hybrid vehicle, decreasing the brake torque of a motor generator even when both a current sensor failure and one-phase short circuit are detected.

A front part of the hybrid vehicle 1 includes an engine 10, a first motor generator 11, and a second motor generator 12, and a rear part of the hybrid vehicle 1 includes a rear motor generator 13 for driving a rear wheel 52. The first MG 11, the second MG 12 and the rear MG 13 are respectively supplied with electric power or regenerated through inverters 28, 29, 30 with respect to a battery 49. The respective inverters are controlled by the respective motor generator ECUs, and the engine is controlled by an engine ECU 42, and controlled by a hybrid ECU 41 for totally controlling the whole hybrid vehicle.
