To provide a position controlling device and method which utilize the mental state of the operator to control the position to which a subject to be controlled, such as a real object or an imaginary object formed by an image, is moved and to provide a storage medium storing a position controlling program.

A position control device 1 detects a controlled variable at a control part 2, and measures an operator's physiological information at a physiological information measuring part 3. A current position detecting part 6 detects the current position of a subject 7 for control. From the controlled variable detected, the operator's physiological information, and the current position of the subject 7 for control, a control part 4 calculates the movement position to which the subject 7 for control is moved, and inputs information which shows the calculated movement position to a movement position control part 7. The movement position control part 7 moves the subject 7 for control, according to the information input.
