Abstract:
To provide a device and method for cooling a vertical furnace for steel, in which the whole furnace can be uniformly and quickly cooled.
The device for cooling the vertical furnace for steel comprises an upper lid 31 provided in an upper portion of the furnace 30, an opening and closing device 40 opening and closing the upper lid 31, and an exhaust duct 32 provided in a bottom portion of the furnace 30 to exhaust furnace air out of the furnace 30. An exhaust fan 34 is provided at an end portion of the exhaust duct 32. The exhaust duct 32 includes a flow adjusting damper 35. An outside air suction duct 37 is connected to the exhaust duct 32.
