PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for reproducing an optical recording medium, more detailedly, a device and method for correcting tilt for coping with a servo emergency condition that occurs while the optical recording medium is reproduced to introduce normal tilt correction.
SOLUTION: An optical recording medium driving device is comprises an optical pickup means, a tilt adjusting means for adjusting a tilt degree of the optical pickup means, a jitter detecting means for detecting a jitter amount of a reproduced signal which occurs in the optical pickup means, and a control means for monitoring a monitor for an operating speed of the optical pickup means and a focus degree of the optical pickup means from a PLL signal generated from the reproduced signal, performing a correspondence operation to normally restore abnormality if the abnormality occurs, and comparing the detected jitter amount with a reference value every fixed period to control the operation of the tilt adjusting means.
