Title:
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING RADIATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3839941
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a radiation detecting device which has small noise and small variance and can read a desired S/N signal out by adopting a method for reading in consideration of attenuation characteristics of a scintillator.
SOLUTION: A radiation detecting device having a scintillator 14, a photoelectric converting device having pixels S, and TFTs (T) for transfer has a means (shift register 102 in the Fig.) which transfers signals stored in pixels by turning on a starting TFT for transfer after a means (control circuit, CPU, and program memory in the Fig.) which is longer than a delay (n×τ1) (where τ1 is the time constant of fluorescent surface afterglow characteristics of the scintillator 14 and (n) is 1n (SN)) after irradiation with radiation stops so as to obtain a desired signal-to-noise S/N.
