Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the rough position of a two-dimensional(2D) code in image data including the 2D code at a high speed.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with a gradation detecting means 58 for detecting the gradation values of pixels in image data divided into small areas including 2D codes, a scanning control means 54 for controlling the gradation detecting means 58 so as to detect the gradation value of a pixel on a scanning line set in the small area, a subtracting means 44 for finding the gradation difference between adjacent pixels or pixels separated by a prescribed interval on the scanning line, a comparing means 46 for comparing the found gradation difference with a prescribed value, a counting means 42 for counting how many times the gradation difference becomes greater than a prescribed value and a ranking means 50 for ranking the small areas on the basis of the obtained level of the found count value.
