Title:
DEVICE AND METHOD OF DETECTING SNOW JAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3420130
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably detect a snow jam, preventing the flow loss of a waterway.
SOLUTION: When a snow jam 12 flows in a waterway 11, line illumination (an illuminator) 13 (focusing illumination such as line spot illumination in which spot-shaped illumination is arranged, the scanning illumination (containing polygon mirror utilization) of laser beams, fan-shaped laser beams (laser fan beams) or the like as an occasion calls) are used, scattered light by the snow jam 12 is picked up by a camera (a line camera or an area camera) 14, and the snow jam 12 is detected by detecting scattered-region size. Light transmitted and scattered by the snow jam 12 may be picked up by the camera 14 and detected by irradiation with focused light towards a water surface from the inside of the waterway 11.
