Abstract:
To provide a device and a method for surely and correctly determining dimensional data of a plate-like object or strand-like object at a low cost.SOLUTION: A method for determining dimensional data of a plate-like object or strand-like object 18 includes the steps of: emitting terahertz radiation by a first transmitter 10 onto a surface of the object 18; receiving the emitted terahertz radiation with a first receiver 10 after the terahertz radiation has passed through the object 18 at least one time; emitting the terahertz radiation comprising a bandwidth of less than 5% of a carrier frequency with a second transmitter 12 to the object 18 at plural time points; receiving the emitted terahertz radiation with a second receiver 12 after the terahertz radiation has passed through the object 18 at least one time; and determining a dimension of the object 18 from a temporal change and/or spatial change of the terahertz radiation received by the second receiver 12 in consideration of the terahertz radiation received by the first receiver 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
