To provide a device and a method for drying an object.SOLUTION: A device can include a housing 101 constituted so as to provide an air flow path comprising an air flow inlet and an air flow outlet, an air flow generation element 102 constituted so as to generate an air flow passing through the air flow path, and one or a plurality of radiant energy sources 103 constituted so as to generate infrared radiation and direct the infrared radiation to the outside of the housing. At least a portion of at least one of the one or the plurality of radiant energy sources 103 is not in contact with the air flow path or the air flow, and thereby the operation temperature of the radiant energy sources 103 is held in a predetermined range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
