A fuel property estimating device 100 is mounted on the vehicle equipped with an internal-combustion engine 10 capable of using a fuel 45 containing gasoline and alcohol and a fuel container 41 to store the fuel, is equipped with a container pressure sensing means 23 to sense the container pressure in the fuel container in its gaseous portion, a fuel pressure sensing means 23 to sense the fuel pressure in the liquid portion of the fuel stored, a fuel amount sensing means 21 to sense the amount of the fuel stored, and a fuel property estimating means 301 to estimate the index value of showing the property of the fuel on the basis of the sensed container pressure, fuel pressure, and fuel amount.
