To execute graphics writing based on fixed point operation without sacrificing precision.
A writing parameter is given as a floating point number from a software application. The floating point number is converted to a fixed point representation having the previously selected number of bits. This bit number is selected according to a prescribed bit number required for a frame buffer and in order to keep precision within the bit numbers of individual values, the representation in a fixed point engine contains additional bits in comparison with the bit number of a color value to be sent to the frame buffer. Concerning the fixed point operation, a writing signal value is generated according to a writing model, the bit number therein is reduced corresponding to the bit number in each of data values required for the frame buffer, and a writing data value is sent as a color value to the frame buffer.
