Abstract:
To automatically fold a sheet efficiently even for a sheet having any expanding shape.
A folding device 20 is provided with a belt conveyor 21, a first folding mechanism 27, a second folding mechanism 31 and a tilting mechanism 35. The belt 22 of the belt conveyor 21 is composed of four belt elements arrayed in the belt width direction, and three hinges for connecting the belt elements adjacent to each other to be folded. The belt 22 is expanded in the belt width direction in upstream and downstream parts, but it is folded in the belt width direction in the midway. A face mask sheet 3 loaded on the belt 22 is folded inside together with the belt 22 folded around the hinge.
