Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for suppressing the deterioration of image quality and variably magnifying an image without enlarging a circuit size, and to provide its method.
SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: a multivalued circuit 24a having a function of performing a first conversion processing to convert binary image data into binary pseudo-multivalue image data and a second conversion processing to perform conversion into multivalue image data in response to a peripheral pixel; a variable magnification circuit 24b having a function of performing a first variable magnification processing to variably magnify the multivalue image data by the inserting or thinning the pixel and a second variable magnification processing to perform variable magnification by interpolation calculation; a binarizing circuit 24c having a function of converting the multivalue image data outputted from the variable magnification circuit 24b into binary image data by a differential diffusion method or a dither method, etc., which is heretofore known itself; and an MPU for controlling whether the multivalued circuit performs the first or second conversion processing and whether the variable magnification circuit 24b performs the first or second variable magnification processing.
