To provide a device for and a method of immobilizing carbon dioxide by inexpensively performing the reduction reaction of carbon dioxide at high efficiency using a photocatalyst to generate a carbon dioxide-reduced product.
The device includes: a microreactor having a microchannel through which the gaseous and liquid materials as reaction charge stocks are circulated; a gaseous material feeding means for feeding the gaseous material into the microchannel; a liquid material feeding means for feeding the liquid material into the microchannel; and a photocatalyst layer provided on the inner face of the microchannel. The gaseous material is carbon dioxide, and the liquid material is a material generating an organic compound by reacting with carbon dioxide. The gaseous and liquid material feeding means are constituted so that a pipe flow can be formed in such a state that the liquid material flows along the inside of the microchannel and carbon dioxide flows through a central portion.
