Abstract:
To provide an alternative and/or improved device or an alternative and/or improved method for lubricating a connecting rod bearing of a crankshaft.SOLUTION: Provided is a device for lubricating a connecting rod bearing 46 on a crankshaft 24 of an internal combustion engine, comprising: a large connecting rod eye 44 connected to a piston 10 having an outlet channel 26 in fluid communication with a fluid channel 12; and a connecting rod 22 having a connection channel 48; the large connecting rod eye 44 being formed to house the connecting rod bearing 46. The connecting channel 48 forms a fluid connection between the outlet channel 26 and the large connecting rod eye so that a fluid, in particular a cooling lubricating fluid (oil) is fed from the fluid channel 12 to the large connecting rod eye 44. The connecting rod bearing 46 can thus be lubricated by the cooling oil from the fluid channel 12 of the piston 10. Complex boreholes, which impair durability, in a crankshaft for feeding to the connecting rod bearing can thus be eliminated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
