Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of device and method for machining counterweight bores in a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A device 10 for machining counterweight bores 21 in a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine in the state of the crankshaft installed in the internal combustion engine, has: an adapter plate 13 that can be aligned with and mounted on counterweight bores of the crankshaft while leaving a counterweight bore to be machined; a cross table 15 mountable on the adapter plate; and a gear 17 capable of being installed to the cross table together with a drive motor. A shaft 23, to which a machining tool 20 for the counterweight bore to be machined can be installed, is rotationally driven by the drive motor and the gear, and the shaft is movable translationally together with the gear on the cross table in the longitudinal direction of the counterweight bore to be machined.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
