PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for manufacturing food products, allowing an auxiliary material to be continuously blended into a highly viscous base food material in a short time, with the properties being kept.SOLUTION: A food manufacturing device 1 includes a vertical-type mixer 10 and an extruder 20. The vertical-type mixer 10 has a mixer body part 11 including a mixing chamber 12 of which central axis intersects with a horizontal plane, a mixing screw 13 coaxially arranged with the mixing chamber 12, a mixture ejecting part 14 arranged at the bottom of the mixing chamber 12, a base material feeding part 15 arranged above the mixture discharging part 14, and an auxiliary material feeding part 16 arranged above the base material feeding part 15. The clearance between the blade part of the mixing screw 13 and the mixer body part 11 is larger than the particle diameter of the auxiliary material. The extruder 20 includes an approximately horizontal molding body part 21, a mixed dough feeding part 22 arranged below the mixture discharging part 14, on one end side of the molding body part 21, a molding discharging part 23 arranged on another end side of the molding body part 21, and extruding screws 25 and 26 arranged between the one end side and the other end side of the molding body part 21.
