Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element which has cell gap uniformity in a liquid crystal cell.
SOLUTION: The device is provided with a 1st measuring mechanism 35a which measures the cell gap of a liquid crystal injected cell 40 right after two substrates 2 and 3 are stuck together and liquid crystal 5 is injected through a liquid crystal injection hole 9, a heating mechanism 35b which heats the liquid crystal injected cell, a pressure applying mechanism 36a which presses a specific area of the liquid crystal injected cell, a liquid crystal wiping mechanism 36b which wipes off liquid crystal 5 extruded by pressure application, a sealant coating mechanism 36c which applies a sealant 13 for sealing the liquid crystal injection hole, a sealant wiping mechanism 36d which wipes off an excessive sealant applied by the sealant coating mechanism, a 2nd measuring mechanism 37a which measures the cell gap after the pressure application by the pressure applying mechanism is stopped, an ultraviolet-ray irradiating mechanism 37b which hardens the sealant by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays when the uniformity of the cell gap enters a specified range, and a sealant impregnation amount measuring mechanism 38a which measures the impregnation amount of the sealant in the liquid crystal injection hole.
