Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing an optical element, capable of increasing the throw-in number of substrates to a deposition tank, capable of improving the yield, and capable of reducing a cost.
SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the optical element, the optical element is manufactured from a rectangular substrate 10 in which an invalid pattern part 12 is provided on the periphery of a valid pattern part 11. In this manufacturing method, since the invalid pattern part 12 is provided on the periphery of the valid pattern part 11 of the rectangular substrate 10, the optical element can be manufactured in a non-contact state in relation to the valid pattern part 11 by taking the invalid pattern part 12 as a handling part in a manufacturing process, and therefore, the optical element can be manufactured at high efficiency and with high quality.
