To provide a method and device for manufacturing siliceous molten material enabling production of light yellow mineral wool fiber by using a cupola furnace.
The present invention is characterized by (a) charging material including two or more different kinds of briquettes (8, 9, 10) and chemical components adjusted in accordance with an assumed iron ratio; (b) an Al2O3 component in the briquettes working as a support structure for melting process; (c) a plurality of high-temperature gas burners (6) used for heating which are arranged so that flames of the burners reinforce each other at the time of heating; and (d) a collecting pan (2) spreading downward in a circular cone shape from an exterior part (15) of a furnace shaft part (11) to a hearth (1).
