Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the distortion of the luminance and color of a reconstructed picture by multiplexing the data indicating videos containing digital luminance and color data into a multiplexed data block having a prescribed length. CONSTITUTION: Compressed luminance data and compressed color data are supplied to a control logic and counter 100. The counter 100 accumulates the multiplexed data in output data buffers 102 and 104. When the multiplexed data are accumulated in the buffers 102 and 104, the addresses of luminance and color data elements are fetched from address data as start addresses 110 and stored in the buffer 104. The counter 102 holds the count value of the data quantity stored in the buffer 102 and, when a prescribed size of compressed luminance and color data is stored in the buffer 102, the counter 100 generates a pointer 112 which indicates the position of the boundary between the luminance data and color data in a multiplexed data block and temporarily stores the pointer 112 in the buffer 104. Finally, the counter 100 couples the contents of both buffers 102 and 104 with each other.
