PURPOSE: To exactly position a picture pattern and to prevent the pattern applied to a work from being further deformed during a processing.

CONSTITUTION: A glass ribbon 22 is passed through a pair of rotating rollers 30 and 32, one of the rollers is formed so as to have an area where a pattern 36 is engraved, a patterned 36 surface is applied to one side of the glass ribbon 22, a certain section of the glass ribbon 22 is located so as to be matched with a vacuum mold cavity 14 provided on a rotating turret 10, the said certain section of the glass ribbon 22 is deformed into almost recessed shape by applying vacuum to the mold cavity 14, glass is trimmed to separate a work 40 from the glass ribbon 22 and the vacuum is released to take out the work 40.
