To permit the reception and utilization of information in an HTML format at an FM broadcasting receiver by performing error correcting processing to use a redundant code with a data format and error correction or error detection to use a redundant code in an entity at different timing.
The 76 kHz carrier wave for teletext multiplexing of an FM radio is broadcasted while loading data in the HTML format. At a reception side portable terminal, the data in the HTML format, to which error correcting processing is performed, are stored in a storage memory 78. When the display instruction switch of an operating part 98 is turned on, a CPU 81 reads and processes the data in the storage memory 78 line by line. In the case of character data, after the error is checked by an ECC decoder circuit 76, these data are expanded into bit map data and written in a display memory 95. In the case of image data, since no image can be displayed at the portable terminal, a character showing the reception of image data is generated and written in the display memory 95.
