A first variable group calculating section 105 calculates a curvature of a curve in a corresponding travel road, based on an image signal acquired by a telephotographic camera 201. A second variable group calculating section 106 calculates a relative position in the vehicle width direction of an own vehicle to a road sign for a vehicle, vertical distance of the own vehicle from a travel road surface, an amount of displacement in a pitching direction of the own vehicle, an amount of displacement in a yaw direction of the own vehicle, and the like based on the image signal acquired by a wide angle camera 202. Further, a processing section 107 for recognizing a road sign for a vehicle recognizes a position of the road sign for the vehicle to the own vehicle and acquires recognition data expressing the recognition based on the data of the variable group acquired in the first variable group calculating section 105 and the second variable group calculating section 106, respectively.
