Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a compressed signal corresponding to an input signal even when a hearing model or respective constants to be prepared are not suitable for the input signal or even when the input signal is any unexpected signal.
CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with decoding circuits 31-33 for performing expansion processing in the process of compression processing, and an input/output error calculating circuit 41 calculates error to be generated in the compressing process from data, which are compressed by adaptive bit allocation encoding circuits 22-24 and extended by the decoding circuits 31-33, and inputted data. Then, bit distribution is calculated again based on the calculated error while keeping the input data as they are, data are prepared so as to perform quantization (encoding at the encoding circuits 22-24) or to cancel the error generated in the compression processing at the input/output error calculating circuit 41, and added to the input signal and quantization is performed.
