PURPOSE: To recover org. solvents continuously and to reutilize the same in washing devices as well as to improve the working efficiency of a titled device by providing a cross partition plate in the separating chamber in the end part of a separating tank which forms a recovering device and separating org. solvents and water with the difference in specific gravity.

CONSTITUTION: Org. solvents contg. water used for washing or the like of printed wiring boards are conducted to a recovering device 8. The separating tank of the device 8 are formed into plural separating chambers with partition plates 15, and an inclined cross partition plate is provided in the separating chamber in the end part to separate org. solvents having ≥1.1 specific gravity and water to two layers with the difference in specific gravity. The separated water is allowed to overflow from the plates 15 and is fed successively into the next separating tanks until finally the water is discharged through a water discharge port 9. A conduit 11 having a discharge port 11a is connected to the position higher than the separating zone for liquid mixtures with the difference in specific gravity in the 1st separating chamber to contain the settled org. slovents 2 into a relay tank 12. A liquid level gage 13 detects the level of the solvents 2 when the solvents are stored in a specified amt. in the tank and a recovery pump 3a, is operated thereby supplying the recovered org. slovents into a washing chamber 1.
