Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a device and a method for refurbishing a pile carpet product by which the cost at the time of replacement with a new carpet can be reduced by refurbishing cut and loop pile carpets.
CONSTITUTION: A carpet tile 10 which is soiled and has gotten out of shape is carried to a supply source 16 by a conveyor 12. Here a high pressure liquid from a nozzle shoots the carpet tile to clean contaminant from surfaces and gaps of weaving yarn thereof and simultaneously to remove tangles of the weaving yarn to errect the yarn. The carpet tile carried below a vacuum extraction apparatus 22 from the supply source is subjected to dehydration. At this time, water from the supply source is recovered by a waste water storing part 24 below the conveyor. Then, after being dried by a drier 28, the carpet tile is carried to a shearing machine 26 via the conveyor 14 and the weaving yarn is cut to even pile height.
